Ethiopian Calendar |
Ethiopian Calendar:While Ethiopia is three hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time, the local use of a 12-hour clock can be very confusing to visitors. 'One' is equivalent to 7am, 'two' 8am and so on to '12' at 6pm. The second cycle then starts at 7pm ('one') and goes until 6am ('12'). Ethiopia follows the Julian calendar, which consists of 12 months of 30 days each, and a 13th month of just five days (six in a leap year). The calendar is about eight years behind the Western (Gregorian) calendar. Web links: |
